Huawei, the world’s biggest telecommunications equipment and services providers, has been placed under scrutiny. There were concerns about its coziness with the Chinese government, especially when Huawei’s founder Mr Ren Zhengfei joined China’s Communist Party* in 1978 and was also a member of the People’s Liberation Army*.
