What is the message of this illustration? Explain your answer. [5] L1 Surface description of the source but no valid message e.g. Source A is an illustration of water-saving habits. 1 L2 Inference of the source Award 2 marks for unsupported inference, and 3 marks for supported inference. e.g. The message of the illustration is to highlight that cutting down on water usage begins at home. This can be seen in Source A which states that “cutting down a shower by 5 minutes saves 45 litres of water which is equivalent to 30 1.5 litre bottles”.
