Do not use highlighters, paper clips, glue or correction fluid on your answers. Answers for Section A and B will be collected SEPARATELY. Section A Answer all questions. Section B Answer both questions. The number of marks is given in brackets [ ] at the end of each question.
2 SECTION A (Source-Based Case Study) Answer all questions. Living in a Diverse Society Study the Background Information and the sources carefully, and then answer all the questions. You may use any of the sources to help you answer the questions, in addition to those sources which you are told to use. In answering the questions, you should use your knowledge of the issue to help you interpret and evaluate the sources. 1 Study Source A. What is the message of this source? Explain your answer. 3 How inclusive is Singapore? BACKGROUND INFORMATION Read this carefully. It may help you to answer some of the questions. Inclusivity has been an important buzzword in Singapore for the past two decades. The Singapore story has always been about enabling every citizen to develop their potential to the fullest, and ensuring everyone can see progress in their lives. Through the ‘Forward Singapore’ conversations which took place during the COVID -19 pandemic, 16,900 Singaporeans from different backgrounds and experiences shared their views on how they envision Singapore’s society to be one that has opportunities for all , no matter where they start off and where everyone can chart their own path to live a fulfilling and dignified life. The pandemic has shed light on the need to do more and protect vulnerable groups such as the seniors in our increasingly ageing population , our migrant workers and persons with disabilities and special needs.
