Question 1a (a) Explain how the components of multi-core processor can benefit Sigma Designs in running their 3D modelling and simulation software. Ans: A multi-core processor can handle more data and perform more instructions at the same time. This will benefit Sigma Designs as 3D modelling uses lots of data to account for the extra dimension when compared to simpler 2-dimensional designs. 3D simulations also require many instructions/calculations to be performed simultaneously to render images and simulate physics smoothly.
