Write your answers in the spaces provided in the Printed Answer Booklet. Follow the instructions on the front cover of the Printed Answer Booklet. Give non-exact numerical answers correct to 3 significant figures, or 1 decimal place in the case of angles in degrees, unless a different level of accuracy is specified in the question. You are expected to use an approved graphing calculator. Unsupported answers from a graphing calculator are allowed unless a question specifically states otherwise. Where unsupported answers from a graphing calculator are not allowed in a question, you must present the mathematical steps using mathematical notations and not calculator commands. You are reminded of the need for clear presentation in your answers. The number of marks is given in brackets [ ] at the end of each question or part question. _________________________________________________________________________________ This document consists of 7 printed pages and 1 blank page. 6 9 Two friends, Aaron and Bob, start their individual long-term savings plans on 1 January 2026. They both make their annual deposits on the first day of each year. Aaron deposits $ 1500 into Account A on 1 January 2026. On the first day of each subsequent year, he increases his deposit amount by a fixed value of $ 20 i.e. $ 1520 in Year 2, $1540 in Year 3, etc. This account does not pay any interest , but he receives a fixed bonus payout of $b credited to his account on 31 December of every year. Bob deposits $1500 into Account B on the first day of every year, starting from 1 January 2026. This account pays a compound interest rate of 3% per annum, credited into his account on 31 December of each year. Let An and Bn be the total amount accumulated in Account A and Account B respectively after the interest is added, at the end of n years i.e. on 31 December of the nth year. (a) Show that (i) 210 (1490 )nA n b n= + + , [3] (ii) ( )51500 1.03 1nnB =− . [3] (b) Find the value of b if the total amount accumulated in Account A at the end of 5 years is $9200. [2] For the rest of the question, use the value of b found in part (b). (c) Find the year in which the total amount accumulated in Account B first exceeds the total amount accumulated in Account A. Hence state the difference in their total amount accumulated at the end of that year. [4] (d) Suppose the compound interest rate for Account B is now revised to x % per annum. Find the minimum value of x, correct to 2 decimal places, such that the total amount accumulated in Account B first exceeds the total accumulated amount in Account A at the end of 8 years. [3]

(a) The acute angle between the plane p1 and the line l1 is 1 4sin 9− . Find the possible values of . [4] Use 2 =− for the remaining parts of this question. (b) Find the position vector of the point of intersection, P, between the plane p1 and the line l1. [3] (c) A line l2 passes through the point A ( )3,1, 4 and is parallel to the plane p1. The lines l1 and l2 intersect at a point B. Find the coordinates of B. [3] (d) Find the acute angle between the lines l1 and l2. [2] (e) A variable plane p2 contains the line l1 and a point S with coordinates ( )3, , 1 ,y−− where .y The plane p2 is rotated about the line l1.
