[5] Suggested Answer Success Criteria The message is that the repatriation will fail / the Rohingya crisis is du e to Myanmar’s poor treatment of the Rohingya (A). This can be seen from the cartoon which shows Bangladesh soldier is trying to usher the Rohingya refuges towards an entry way in the shape of a tiger with the mouth open, and skulls in the mouth. (EV) This imply that that the Rohingya will f ace certain death if they were to be sent back to Myanmar.(EXP) ● ATQ ● Evidence (Describe the source) ● Explanation 2 Study Sources B and C. How similar are the sources? Explain your answer. [6] Suggested Answer Success Criteria They are similar (A) because both (CW) sources agree (LOR) that wildlife is badly affected by the building of the refugee camp.(CC) The evidence from B is “Areas previously inhabited by wild elephants are now barren. ” (EV), which indicates that animal habitats are cleared. Similarly (CW), this can also be seen in source C which says “What had been a sanctuary for wildlife, including endangered Asian elephants, quickly became a bare, hilly tract of bamboo and plastic-roofed shelters that was prone to floodin g and landslides in the monsoon season.” (EV) This shows that natural habitats of animals have been removed to make way for man-made infrastructures. ● ATQ ● Common Criteria ● Comparison word ● Evidence x2 1 best line ● Explanation x2 They are different (A) because Source B says the water sources are threatened by contamination (CC) whereas (CW) Source C says water sources are no longer threatened by contamination.[CC] The evidence in B is “Groundwater sources are quickly being depleted and freshwater streams have become contaminated. ” (EV), indicating that various water sources are used at a much faster rate and prone to pollution.
