AtriptoCambodiawillbroadenourmindsandhorizonsbecausewegettoseefirsthand,whata developingcountrylookslike.Whenwevisitwitha specificpurposein mind,it makesthatexperienceevenmoremeaningful.We willlearndiligentlyaboutthelatestdevelopmentsfromtheCambodianpeopledirectly

andwewillformstudygroupstodocumentourlearning.Wewouldalsosavouranyopportunitiesforustoworkwithpeoplefromothernationalities. Secondly, l wouldliketoaddthattheprojecttobuildaclassroomallowsustohelpourlessfortunatecounterpartsin Cambodia.Thisis an invaluableopportunitybecauseevenif wedonotspeaktheirlanguage,wecanexpressoursinceritythroughoureffortstohelpthemsoastocultivateourfriendshipwiththem.We willseriouslyusetheopportunityasa motivationto learnconversationalCambodianandhopefullythroughdailyinteractions,allofuswouldbeabletospeakandunderstanditwhencommunicatingwiththelocalpeople.WealsothinkitisimportantforustosharewiththeCambodianswhoandwhatwe reallyareso thatwecandevelopa strongandpositiverelationshipwiththem.We are goingto documentourexperienceasSingaporeansandwhenan opportunityarisesforusto doso,weshallpresentourexperiencehereasa focaleventinourculturalexchangewiththeCambodians. I acknowledgethatsomeparentsmightexpressconcernsaboutthewell-beingoftheirchildrenduringtheirstayinCambodia,despiteitbeingaveryshorttrip.However, myclassmatesandI stronglybelievethatthistripwillteachustoappreciatebetterallthecareandconcernourparentshavebestoweduponusathome.I amcertainthatnobodywilltakeforgrantedthecreaturecomfortsweenjoyinSingaporeafterthetrip.Asawhole,theclassisgoingtobenefittremendouslyfromtheServiceLearningwhichwillgreatlyenrichourpersonalgrowthandcharacterdevelopment.Nevertheless,toallaythefearsoftheseparents,ourformteacherhaskindlyagreedtomeetupwiththeseparentsto addresstheirconcerns. Inconclusion,I recommendthatwevisitasaclass,theCambodia-SingaporeFriendshipCamptoassisttheminbuildingaclassroomintheorphanageforthisyears’ServiceLearning.Wetrulywishtomakeourlivesmeaningf
