3 How has the Russian-Ukrainian War impacted the global economy? BACKGROUND INFORMATION Read this carefully. It may help you answer some of the questions. On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. This war has caused half a million deaths amongst Ukrainian and Russian troops, and even more civilian deaths. The Russian-Ukrainian war has had significant repercussions on the global economy. One of the primary impacts is the disruption of global supply chains, particularly in the energy sector. Many countries are no longer using gas supplied by Russia . Energy prices soared due to higher cost for gas supplied from other places . This has led to increases in electricity prices in many countries, including Singapore. The war has caused shortages and price hikes in food commodities, exacerbating food insecurity in various regions. The war has also increased geopolitical tensions, leading to sanct
