You may use any of the sources to help you answer the questions, in addition to those sources you are told to use. In answering the questions, you should use your knowledge of the topic to help you interpret and evaluate the sources. 1 (a) Study Sources A and B. Explain your answer using details from the source. [6] (c) Study Source D. Does Source D prove that the US was determined to help the people of West Berlin? Explain your answer. 3 The Berlin Blockade BACKGROUND INFORMATION Read this carefully. It may help you answer some of the questions. At the Potsdam Conference in 1945, Germany was divided into four zones of occupation, one for each Allied power under the Four -Powers Agreement. Berlin, located within the Soviet Zone, was also split into four. In 1947, t he United States and Britain merged their zones for economic recovery, with France joining on 21 June 1948.
