He was strongly anti-Communist. In my generation this was not the first time that the strong had attacked the weak. I remember how each time the democracies failed to act it encouraged the aggressors to keep going. Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini and the Japanese had acted then, fifteen and twenty years ago. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall, Communist leaders would be encouraged to invade nations closer to our shores.If the UN is ever going to do anything, this is the time, and if
