2 8834/2025/Y6/Prelim Exam/QP Section A Cluster 2 Fieldwork 1 Five students wanted to carry out an investigation of the social needs of the elderly in a housing estate. In their secondary research, they found that the estate with the largest proportion of elderly in Singapore is Bedok and in the following proportions by age group: Age group 60-69: 15.0% 70-79: 10.7% 80 and above: 4.6% The students produced a questionnaire to assess the needs of the elderly and to compare with the existing facilities in Bedok . Three sites, shown in Resource 1, were identified as potential sites to conduct the survey. After a preliminary visit to assess the suitability of the sites, the students eventually selected Site 1. On a weekday, between 0800h to 1000h , in June , t he students conducted their survey at Site 1 . They approached people, who appeared to be elderly and were willing to be surveyed, and verified their age and residential status before they conducted their survey using the questionnaire shown in Resource 2. They surveyed a total of 65 elderlies: 20 aged 60-69 years 25 aged 70-79 years 20 aged 80 and above years Resource 1 shows the locations of the potential and actual survey sites. Resource 2 is a sample of the survey questionnaire. Resource 3 is the results of the survey collected by the students. (a) Suggest a hypothesis for the investigation and explain why it is suitable. [4] (b) With reference to Resource 1, explain why the students selected Site 1 and not the other sites to conduct their survey. [3] (c) With reference to Resource 2, explain the strengths and limitations of the survey questionnaire. [4] (d) Use a suitable method to represent the result
