2 Section A Answer all the questions in this section. Question 1, 2 and 3 carry 12 marks and Question 4 carries 14 marks. You should allocate your time accordingly. Lithospheric Processes, Hazards and Management 1 Figure 1 shows a section of the Ea rth and two plate boundaries – divergent and convergent plate boundaries. (a) Briefly explain how the oceanic trench and the Andes Mountains are formed. [4] (b) Identify and explain two evidence that can be found at divergent plate boundaries and two evidence found at conv ergent plate boundaries, and show how these evidence can be used to support the Theory of Plate Tectonics. [8] The Globalisation of Economic Activity 2 Figure 2 shows South Korea’s changing employment structure from 1950 to 1990. (a) Describe the changing employment structure as shown in Figure 2. [3] (b) Suggest two factors that gave South Korea a comparative advantage over Developed Countries (DCs) in attracting manufacturing industries during the 1960s.
