Text 1 is taken from the webpage of the Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation Limited. Our locally grown produce currently accounts for less than 10% of the food we eat. To reduce the threats of climate change and future pandemics, we will always support our farmers to ramp up the production of local produce - ensuring food is on our tables for generations to come. The next time you are shopping for groceries online or at the supermarkets, look out for the SG Fresh Produce badges on the packaging or displayed next to fish, eggs, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, beansprouts and more. Text 2 is taken from an email by a student to her friend. You know Jane, I was always under the impression that locally produced food was inferior. Well, I couldn’t be more wrong. The local greens, eggs and fish that I tried at the Buy Local fair were simply delicious! They were all so fresh. I found out that choosing local produce is actually more environmentally friendly. That means I can not only enjoy great tasting food, but also do my part in saving the world. Isn’t that wonderful?
