Paragraph 2- BODY – Reasons and objectives and: This paragraph states reason why the writer wants to organise this campaign and states the objectives of the Earth Day campaign In support of Earth Day, the Eco-friendly Society is keen to start an Earth Day campaign on our very own school grounds to help students and teachers be more aware of the green movement and to translate this awareness into action and a change in behaviour. We would like to propose two interesting activities to meet these objectives. We will arrange an attractive display in the school hall, and students and teachers can then browse the collection and pick whatever catches their fancy. To ensure that students do not take this event as an opportunity to discard their unwanted junk, perhaps an element of competition should be introduced by getting people to vote on the most popular item. I am sure that this activity will get people to think twice before throwing things away and to be less wasteful. A good time to do so would be in the month of February. Posters designed by the students can be put up around the school promoting these two activities. A Best Poster competition could be held and prizes given to the three best posters. Another fun competition that can be a publicity tool for the campaign is a Dress Up the Trash Bin competition, which will also add a fun element to this campaign. Paragraph 5 – Conclusion- repeat how the suggestions will boost the success of the event. I am confident that if organised well, Earth Day this year will prove to be an educational and fun-filled affair, where everyone will go away with a heightened awareness of and an increased sense of responsibility for the state of Mother Earth.
