Narrative Qn Types “explain your answer with _ details” firstly, ‘quote’ suggests that ‘noun’ was…(explain quote), emphasises (link to qns) don’t use the same words as question but it must link eg qn says “difficult” so you explain how it is “challenging” “give one word/phrase/sentence… ” MUST have sentence starter, fullstop AFTER quote unless its sentence The word/phrase is “____”. The sentence is “____.” “why is this unusual” (the expression itself, not the context!) contrasting stuff eg silent scream: silent means no sound but screams are loud “why is this effective” it EMPHASIZES/ highlights… eg short sentence: emphasise abruptness repetition: reinforce idea, emphasise that it was persistent contrast: reinforce idea … : build suspense, emphasise hesitation. confusion, unending “ ” : (irony) cast doubt on… “explain the irony…” appearance vs reality eg a fire station burning down: fire stations help put them out but… “what does this comparison suggest” explain the keywords, “very/extremely/so…” “answer IYOW” don’t replace word by word, find the keywords to rephrase (verbs etc)
