2 SECTION A (10 marks) Answer all parts of Question 1. 1 In answering the questions, you should use your kn owledge and understanding of the period to help you interpret and evaluate th e sources. You must use the sources to which you are specifically directed. Issue: How effective was Lenin in dealing with thre ats posed to his regime upon coming to power? Source A: An extract from a Red propaganda leaflet dropped on British soldiers during the Russian Civil War, c.1920 For the first time in history the working people ha ve got control of their country. The workers of all countries are striving to achieve th is objective. We in Russia have succeeded. We have thrown off the rule of the Tsar, of landlords and of capitalists. But we still have tremendous difficulties to overco me. We cannot build a new society in a day. We ask you, are you going to crush us?
